Assistant General Manager

We are looking for a driven and energetic Assistant General Manager to support the successful day-to-day running of a fast-paced Entertainment & Leisure venue.

Working closely with the General Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing daily operations, supporting departmental managers, driving commercial performance and ensuring consistently high standards across the venue.

This is a hands-on leadership position where you will be highly visible within the operation, supporting the team during busy trading periods and helping to create an environment that delivers an outstanding experience for every customer.

You will also play an important role in coaching and developing the team, helping individuals reach their potential while supporting the General Manager in building a positive, high-performing workplace culture.

What You'll Be Doing

• Support the General Manager with the overall day-to-day operation of the venue.
• Take responsibility for the venue in the General Manager's absence.
• Help ensure all departments operate smoothly, safely and consistently.
• Support departmental managers in maintaining high operational and customer service standards.
• Drive performance against key KPIs, including revenue, wage percentage, profitability and operational targets.
• Monitor costs and labour performance while identifying opportunities to improve profitability.
• Support the delivery of strong financial results across the venue.
• Play an active role in driving additional revenue opportunities, including corporate and group bookings.
• Take a particular interest in food and beverage/bar operations, helping to maximise sales, control costs and maintain service standards.
• Work alongside the management team during busy periods, leading from the front and supporting operational delivery.
• Ensure customers receive an exceptional experience and proactively resolve any issues that arise.
• Support the General Manager with recruitment, onboarding and retention of team members.
• Coach and develop employees and managers through regular feedback, training and performance management.
• Identify talented individuals within the team and support their ongoing development and progression.
• Ensure company procedures, Health & Safety requirements and relevant legislation are followed consistently.
• Help maintain a positive, inclusive and engaging working environment.
• Encourage strong communication and teamwork across all departments.
