Reception Teaching Assistant

Flourish Education are recruiting for a Reception Teaching Assistant to join a Primary School in the Ladywood area. This is a full-time role starting as soon as possible and continuing until the end of the academic year.

The role will involve supporting pupils within a Reception classroom, helping them access learning and develop across the EYFS curriculum. Personal care will be required as part of the role, so the successful candidate will need to be comfortable providing this support.

Responsibilities as a Reception Teaching Assistant:

· Supporting pupils within a Reception classroom
· Providing 1:1 and small group support where required
· Supporting children with their learning and development
· Assisting with EYFS activities and classroom routines
· Providing personal care where required
· Supporting children’s social, emotional and academic development
· Working closely with the class teacher and wider school team
· Helping to maintain a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment

Required Skills and Experience:

· Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable
· Experience working within a Reception or Early Years setting
· Experience supporting children with personal care needs
· Good understanding of the EYFS framework
· A calm, patient and nurturing approach
· Strong communication and teamwork skills
· Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
· Reliable and proactive approach
