- Supporting the management of Safe Systems of Work and Permit to Work procedures
- Conducting site inspections, internal audits and external facility audits
- Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual HSE, ESG and KPI reports
- Investigating accidents, incidents and near misses, completing root-cause analysis and implementing corrective actions
- Liaising with external bodies, including the Environment Agency and local authorities
- Reviewing operational and environmental data to identify trends, risks and potential plant defects
- Ensuring compliance with company policies, environmental obligations and relevant ISO standards
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- Experience in a similar HSE role within Energy from Waste, power generation or another highly regulated process environment - paper production, cement, steel, chemical production
- A relevant health and safety or environmental qualification, ideally NEBOSH, a degree or equivalent professional experience
- Experience managing Environmental Permit requirements and regulatory compliance
- Strong knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental Management Systems and ISO standards
- Experience conducting audits, inspections and incident investigations
- The ability to understand the engineering and operational risks associated with a power generation facility
- Strong leadership, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to embed a positive safety culture
- Knowledge of CEMS, emissions monitoring or boiler water treatment would be advantageous
What’s on offer:
- A competitive basic salary depending on experience
- Performance-related bonus up to 15%
- Private dental and medical cover
- Company pension
- The opportunity to build and develop your own HSE team
- A key role in shaping the culture of a brand-new Energy from Waste facility
- The opportunity to support the site through final construction, commissioning and into full operations
