Job Description:
Our client, a leading childcare provider, is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join their team in Bideford, North Devon. Based within a residential home on the historic port and market town of Bideford, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people. As a Support Worker, you will be part of a compassionate team committed to delivering high-quality, personalised care in a safe and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Support Worker based in Bideford, your daily duties will include:

Establishing positive, trusting relationships with children and young people to promote their social, emotional, and physical well-being.
Supporting children with their education, vocational interests, and social networks, ensuring they feel safe and valued.
Providing consistent boundaries and behaviour management, including supervising online activity and implementing agreed sanctions when necessary.
Assisting with daily domestic tasks such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe, clean environment.
Managing healthcare needs, including attending medical appointments and maintaining accurate records.
Participating in care planning, reviews, and team meetings to ensure the best outcomes for children and young people.
Ensuring the physical security of the home, including managing shift keys and locking doors/windows when unoccupied.
Supporting the admission, discharge, and transition processes for young people entering or leaving the home.

Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Support Worker, you will need:

An NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People or equivalent qualification.
Previous experience working in a residential childcare setting or similar environment.
Mandatory compliance with an Enhanced DBS Check and a Full UK Driving Licence.
Strong communication skills, patience, and a compassionate approach to care.
