About the role
NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Highly Specialist Clinical Physiologist to join the Respiratory Physiology and Sleep Apnoea Service at Ninewells Hospital.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering specialist respiratory and sleep Apnoea diagnostic services across NHS Tayside. Working autonomously within a multidisciplinary team, the post holder will perform, analyse and report a range of highly specialised investigations including pulmonary function testing, cardiopulmonary exercise testing, and sleep apnoea diagnostics using limited polysomnography and wearable diagnostic technologies.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a friendly, dynamic and forward-thinking team providing services that are integral to the diagnosis and management of patients with respiratory and sleep disorders. The department supports a number of key clinical pathways, including respiratory medicine, thoracic surgery, lung cancer, pre-operative assessment and vascular surgery.
The post holder will contribute to service development, quality improvement, clinical governance, audit and the training and supervision of junior staff and students. There will also be opportunities to support the implementation of new technologies and service innovations.
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication, organisational and analytical skills, with the ability to prioritise workload, work independently and deliver high-quality, patient-centred care.
You will be required to comply with the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland throughout your employment.
Informal enquiries are welcomed and encouraged.
