A highly supportive and inclusive two-form entry primary school in Crawley is seeking a dedicated Early Years SEND Teaching Assistant to join their Reception team. This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with a range of additional needs including Autism (ASD), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, sensory needs, non-verbal communication, and occasional personal care requirements.

About the Role
You will play a key role in helping Reception children access learning, develop communication skills, build friendships, and gain confidence in the classroom.
Responsibilities include:
✅ Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis
✅ Delivering targeted interventions and play-based learning activities
✅ Using visual timetables, sensory strategies and communication aids
✅ Supporting children with emotional regulation and transitions
✅ Encouraging independence and social interaction
✅ Working closely with teachers, SENDCo, speech therapists and families
✅ Assisting with personal care where required
✅ Helping create a safe, fun and engaging learning environment
What We’re Looking For

Experience working with children or young people
SEND experience desirable but not essential
Caring, resilient and patient nature
Strong communication skills
Passion for Early Years education
Ability to build positive relationships quickly
