Class 1 (C+E) HGV Driver – Isle of Wight
Location: Sandown, Isle of Wight
Pay rate: £15 per hour, with a guaranteed day rate
Contract: Temporary agency work
Working hours: Daytime shifts, Monday to Friday during the main assignment

Job Description
We are currently recruiting for an experienced and reliable Class 1 (C+E) HGV Driver to undertake delivery work for our client, starting from Sandown on the Isle of Wight.

This role involves collecting a load in the morning in Sandown, travelling by ferry to the mainland to complete a delivert directly to the client, and returning to the island. The position is suited to drivers seeking daytime work without the need for overnight stays away from home.

The main assignment is expected to run for approximately four weeks from the begining of November, with work scheduled five days per week. Additional shifts may be available before and after this period, depending on operational requirements. This varies massivley Month by Month.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely collect and transport loads from the Isle of Wight to the mainland.
  
  
• Travel by ferry to complete deliveries to the designated client.
  
  
• Return to the Isle of Wight following completion of deliveries.
  
  
• Ensure all work is carried out safely, professionally and in accordance with relevant transport regulations.
  
  
• Maintain good communication with the agency and client throughout each shift.
  
  

Pay and Working Pattern

• £15 per hour.
  
  
• Guaranteed day rate, even when duties are completed ahead of schedule.
  
  
• Five days per week during the main assignment, for approximately four weeks.
  
  
• Daytime working hours, with no overnight stays required.
  
  
• Further work may be available on a flexible, ad hoc basis before and after the main assignment. Shift availability may vary from week to week.
  
  

Requirements

• Valid Category C+E (Class 1) driving licence.
  
  
• Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (Driver CPC), where required.
  
  
• Valid Driver Qualification Card and digital tachograph card, as applicable.
  
  
• A professional approach to driving, safety and customer service.
  
  
• Reliability and flexibility to accommodate varying work requirements outside the main assignment.
