The hours are 1.5 per day Monday to Friday.

Working as a member of the play team, you will ensure that all our children have meaningful lunchtime play every day. • Facilitate play opportunities and act as an ambassador for play.
  • Assess play areas for risks daily and communicate/implement any changes required.

  • Record and report incidents of note that occur during lunchtime – eg site issues, behaviour, first aid.
  • Assist with first aid (once trained) and first aid reporting.
  • Assist children at lunch, eg with queuing, getting seated, opening packets, spillages, disputes, clearing plates / cutlery and encourage good eating, hygiene and social skills.
  • Offer care, support and advice for children during lunchtime.
  • Contribute ideas and suggestions to improve the team practices and performance.
  • Promote and safeguard the safety and welfare of children in accordance with school child protection and behaviour management policies.
  • Support and uphold the school’s values system and school rules and reward pupils with verbal praise for positive attitudes and behaviours.
  • Attend periodic team meetings and/or training for professional development.

We are looking for someone who:

  • 🎯 Is committed to high standards and achieving the best outcomes for all
  • 👥 Works well as part of a team and contributes positively to school life
  • Enjoy working with young people (all ages in the primary school range 4 to 11 years).
  • Display a positive and supportive attitude towards young people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds.
  • Be confident in working with, and able to influence and negotiate with, children from Reception (4 years old) to Year 6 (11 years old).
  • Have strong teamwork skills; enjoy being part of a team, supportive, flexible and reliable.
  • Be friendly, approachable and have a caring manner.
  • Be dependable, with good time keeping.
  • Show a willingness to try new things and work outside their comfort zone.
