Accounts Assistant

Jackson Hogg is delighted to be partnering with an excellent client in Bedlington on the appointment of an Accounts Assistant.

This is a great opportunity to join an established finance team in a varied role focused on the end-to-end purchase ledger process. Working closely with the Accounts Manager, you'll be responsible for ensuring supplier invoices are processed accurately and efficiently while supporting the wider finance function.

Key Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices and ensure accurate coding
• Match invoices to purchase orders and supporting documentation
• Resolve supplier and internal invoice queries
• Maintain the purchase ledger and supplier accounts
• Assist with payment run preparation
• Support credit control activities as required
• Provide general finance and administrative support
• Assist with payroll administration following successful completion of probation

About You

• Previous experience within Purchase Ledger or Accounts Payable
• Experience using Sage or similar accounting software
• Strong numerical and data entry skills
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Confident communicating with suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Offering

• Salary of £26,000
• AAT study support
• 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
• 35-hour working week
