SEND TA – Hub Based

Location: Barnsley, S74
Contract: Full-time
Start Date: After October Half Term

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a school hub in the Barnsley (S74) area, starting after October half term.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and helping them thrive in a supportive, structured learning environment.
The Role

• Provide support to pupils with a range of additional needs within a school hub.
• Support pupils with their learning, emotional regulation and social development.
• Help deliver engaging, differentiated activities tailored to individual needs.
• Promote positive behaviour and encourage pupils to develop independence and confidence.
• Work closely with teachers, the SEND team and other support staff to meet pupils’ needs.
• Help maintain a safe, calm and inclusive learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate

• Has experience working with children with SEND, ideally within a school or specialist provision.
• Is patient, empathetic and adaptable when responding to different needs.
• Has strong communication and behaviour management skills.
• Can build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Is confident supporting pupils who may require additional emotional, behavioural or learning support.
• Is available to work full-time from after October half term.
