About the role

Morson are seeking a talented and forward-thinking Graphic Designer to join our growing Marketing and Communications team. Joining at a pivotal moment of growth and strategic evolution, you will directly influence how our business looks, feels, and communicates. You will bring a contemporary perspective and compelling design concepts to a diverse range of outputs, including multi-channel campaigns, digital content, publications, presentations, and major business pitches.
Drawing inspiration from architecture, engineering, and the built environment, you will translate complex ideas, technical expertise, and corporate stories into highly engaging, modern visual assets.
Alongside your creative projects, you will act as a brand champion. You will help make high-quality graphic design accessible and consistent across the organization by developing user-friendly tools, templates, and systems that empower your colleagues to communicate our brand identity with absolute confidence.

Key Responsibilities

Brand Evolution & Identity

  • Shape the Brand: Continually evolve and refine our visual identity, finding innovative ways to express who we are and where the business is heading.
  • Creative Input: Bring fresh perspectives to the design team, constructively challenging creative briefs and shaping unique artistic approaches.

Campaigns & Multi-Channel Content

  • Digital Content Creation: Design impactful digital assets for social media platforms, email marketing, web channels, and other online media.
  • Print & Exhibition Design: Produce high-quality layouts for formal publications, corporate reports, event signage, and physical exhibitions.
  • Multimedia Collaboration: Partner on photography and video production projects, while actively supporting the growth of our in-house motion graphics capabilities.

Business Growth & Bids

  • Secure New Business: Collaborate on high-value commercial bids, proposals, and client-facing pitch materials, helping to shape the visual narrative and strategic creative response.

Design Systems & Advocacy

  • System Governance: Build and maintain scalable templates and design assets, ensuring non-design colleagues can easily apply brand guidelines across presentations and corporate documents.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Act as an internal advocate for design, sharing trends, new ideas, and best practices to raise visual quality across the entire business practice.
  • Operational Support: Provide occasional cross-cover for internal teams on client-facing design assets and wayfinding systems.

Candidate Requirements

Essential Experience & Skills:

  • Proven Track Record: 3 to 5 years of professional graphic design experience, gained either within a creative agency or an in-house corporate design environment.
  • Software Mastery: Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (specifically InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop), with a portfolio spanning both print and digital design.
  • Brand Literacy: A deep understanding of brand strategy, including how to strictly apply and successfully evolve a visual identity system.
  • Core Principles: A flawless eye for typography, layout hierarchy, composition, and colour theory.
  • Concept to Execution: Ability to interpret abstract briefs and independently guide ideas from initial concept through to production-ready artwork.
  • Project Management: Highly organized, detail-oriented, and collaborative, with the proven ability to balance multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

Desirable (Nice-to-Have) Attributes:

  • Multimedia: Experience or a keen interest in animation, video editing, or motion graphics using After Effects, Premiere Pro, or similar tools.
  • Web & Digital: Basic knowledge of web design principles and experience with Content Management Systems (CMS) like WordPress.
  • Inclusive Design: An understanding of modern accessibility standards and inclusive design methodologies.
  • Innovation: An appreciation of how AI and emerging creative technologies can ethically support and streamline the design workflow.
