Assistant QS & QS

We’re looking for experienced Quantity Surveyors and Assistant Quantity Surveyors to join a respected engineering and construction business based in Bolton. These roles are ideal for commercially minded professionals who enjoy seeing complex projects through from tender stage to final account and want to continue progressing their career within a supportive environment.Due to the nature of this role being on a national security facility, we can only accommodate applications from UK Nationals. SalaryAssistant Quantity Surveyor: £35,000 per annum (dependent on experience)Quantity Surveyor: £45,000 per annum (dependent on experience)Location and Working PatternBolton-based with home working most FridaysFull-time, permanent staff positions (37 hours per week)Typical hours: Monday–Thursday 08:00–17:00, Friday 08:00–12:00Client Overview Our client is an established engineering organisation that delivers high-quality solutions across key sectors such as construction, defence and infrastructure. ResponsibilitiesManage all commercial aspects of projects from tender to final account settlementAdminister contract changes, ensuring correct and timely submission of documentation and noticesBuild and maintain productive relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal teamsSupport procurement activities to ensure value for money and compliance with corporate proceduresMonitor project costs, value and performance to achieve commercial and contractual objectivesPrepare and evaluate interim applications for payment and subcontractor accountsProduce accurate financial reports, forecasts and supporting documentation for reviewsMaintain compliance across all project records, applications, quotations, variations and certificationsMust-have RequirementsHND or degree (or working towards) in Quantity Surveying or a related fieldDemonstrable experience within a main contracting or project delivery environmentGood working knowledge of JCT, NEC or ICHEME contract forms and construction lawExcellent numerical, communication and IT skills, confident with Microsoft OfficeCapable of managing multiple priorities and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environmentSC Clearance or eligibility to obtain - Due to the nature of this role being on a national security facility, we can only accommodate applications from UK Nationals.Strong organisational and stakeholder management skills with a professional attitudeNice-to-have SkillsMembership (or working towards) of RICS or another relevant professional bodyCSCS cardConfident negotiator and strong relationship builderSelf-motivated with a results-driven approachApply Now If you’re ready to take the next step in your commercial career, apply today to join a forward-thinking organisation delivering major engineering and construction projects.The NRL Group connect global companies with the right people to bring engineering projects to life.
