Teaching Assistant for Reception

PK Education is looking for a caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support a Reception class at a primary school in Newcastle upon Tyne.

This is a rewarding opportunity to help children develop their confidence, independence and early learning skills, with the potential to secure a permanent position after 12 weeks.

Responsibilities:

• Support the class teacher with engaging activities across the EYFS curriculum.

• Provide individual and small-group support.

• Help develop early phonics, communication, literacy and numeracy skills.

• Encourage learning through play, positive behaviour and independence.

• Support children’s social and emotional development.

• Help maintain a safe, welcoming and inclusive classroom.

Requirements:

• A relevant Level 2 Teaching Assistant or childcare qualification, or equivalent.

• Experience supporting children in an Early Years or Reception setting.

• An understanding of the EYFS curriculum and learning through play.

• A patient, nurturing and proactive approach.

• Good communication skills and a commitment to safeguarding.

• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
