HGV2 Driver – Southampton

Key Responsibilities:

Drive HGV Class 2 Refuse Lorry:

• Operate a HGV Class 2 refuse lorry, ensuring all driving is conducted safely and efficiently in accordance with UK road laws and regulations.
• Navigate various terrains, including rural and built-up areas, with care and precision.
• Maintain a clean and organised vehicle, conducting daily checks to ensure roadworthiness.

Assist Loaders:

• Collaborate with and support loaders during certain rounds to ensure efficient and timely waste collection.
• Assist in loading and unloading bins, ensuring all health and safety protocols are followed.

Route Management:

• Plan and execute collection routes to optimise efficiency and reduce fuel consumption.
• Adapt to changing circumstances and re-route as necessary to meet collection deadlines.

Customer Interaction:

• Provide excellent customer service by addressing any queries or issues from the public in a professional manner.
• Represent the company with a positive attitude, building rapport and maintaining high standards of service.

Health and Safety Compliance:

• Adhere to all health and safety regulations, reporting any incidents, accidents, or near-misses immediately.
• Ensure the safe handling and transportation of waste materials, prioritising safety for yourself, team members, and the public.

Additional Duties:

• Perform any other duties as required by the supervisor to support the team and company operations.
• Engage in company training programmes and meetings to stay updated on policies and procedures.
• Monday to Friday: 05:30 start times.

Requirements:

Valid Driving Licence
Valid UK CPC and UK Digi Tacho cards.
