About the role

A well-established, large-scale organisation within the UK travel sector is seeking an experienced Data & Analytics Manager to lead its Data & Insight function and play a pivotal role in driving a truly data-led culture across the business. Operating within a complex, fast-paced and customer-focused environment, the organisation recognises the importance of data in improving service delivery, enhancing operational performance and supporting strategic decision-making. This is an exciting leadership opportunity for someone who combines strong technical expertise with commercial awareness, people management and the ability to influence at a senior level.

As Data & Analytics Manager, you will take ownership of the delivery and continuous development of the organisation’s analytical capabilities, setting direction for the team and ensuring that data, reporting and insight support wider business objectives. You will lead, motivate and develop a team of Performance Analysts, establishing clear priorities, promoting high standards and creating an environment where colleagues are encouraged to develop their skills, share knowledge and challenge existing ways of working. Working closely with the Head of Data & Insight, you will help shape the team’s strategy, oversee key deliverables and ensure resources are effectively aligned to business priorities. You will act as a senior point of contact for analytical matters, providing guidance, resolving challenges and ensuring the team consistently delivers high-quality, actionable insight.

A key part of the role will be to build strong relationships across Operations, Finance, Technology and Strategic Analytics, acting as a trusted business partner to senior stakeholders and functional leaders. You will work collaboratively to understand business challenges, identify opportunities where data can add value and translate strategic requirements into effective analytical solutions. Through strong communication and influencing skills, you will champion evidence-based decision-making, challenge assumptions constructively and demonstrate how data can improve performance, efficiency and the customer experience. You will also play a key role in promoting data literacy across the organisation, helping stakeholders understand and confidently use data to inform their decisions.

You will oversee the delivery of business and operational performance reporting, ensuring stakeholders have access to accurate, consistent and meaningful insights. This will include supporting performance reviews, monitoring key metrics, identifying emerging trends and overseeing deep-dive investigations into complex performance issues. You will guide the team in identifying root causes, assessing risks and opportunities, and developing recommendations that drive continuous improvement. By connecting operational insights with wider commercial and strategic objectives, you will help ensure that data is used not simply to report on past performance, but to influence future decisions and deliver measurable business outcomes.

From a technical perspective, you will provide leadership across the development of Power BI dashboards, reporting solutions and data products, ensuring they are robust, scalable and aligned with business needs. You will bring strong SQL expertise and experience working with large, complex datasets across multiple systems and modern cloud-based environments. While this is a management-focused position, you will retain the technical credibility to challenge analytical approaches, guide solution development and support the resolution of complex data challenges. You will also drive the automation and optimisation of reporting processes, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce manual intervention and enhance the quality and accessibility of insight across the business.

Data quality, governance and consistency will be central to your remit. You will champion a trusted single source of truth, establishing and maintaining high standards across data validation, KPI definitions and reporting methodologies. Working closely with Technology and Data & Strategic Analytics teams, you will oversee improvements to data flows, integration and reporting processes, ensuring that data products are reliable and fit for purpose. You will take ownership of resolving systemic data challenges, embedding best practice and driving continuous improvement in the way data is managed, interpreted and used across the organisation.

As a people leader, you will be responsible for creating a high-performing and collaborative team environment, setting clear expectations, providing regular feedback and supporting individual development. You will identify opportunities to strengthen the team’s technical and analytical capabilities, encourage knowledge sharing and help colleagues develop the confidence to engage effectively with stakeholders. You will balance day-to-day delivery with longer-term capability building, ensuring the team has the skills, structure and direction needed to respond to evolving business requirements. You will also manage competing priorities, oversee workloads and ensure that analytical resources are focused on the areas that deliver the greatest value.

To be successful, you will bring proven experience in a data analytics, business intelligence, performance or insight management role, alongside a track record of leading teams, developing talent and delivering analytical solutions that influence business decisions. You will have advanced Power BI skills, strong SQL expertise and experience working with large datasets, multiple data sources and modern cloud-based data platforms. A strong understanding of data quality, governance, reporting standards and automation will be important, as will the ability to combine technical oversight with strategic thinking and effective team leadership.

You will be a confident communicator and relationship builder, comfortable engaging with senior leadership teams and influencing stakeholders across a complex organisation. You will be able to translate technical analysis into compelling business narratives, challenge established thinking and build consensus around data-led recommendations. Experience within a large, operationally driven or customer-focused organisation would be valuable, particularly across travel, tourism, transport, hospitality or logistics. Above all, you will bring a proactive and collaborative leadership style, a passion for developing people and a clear vision for how data and insight can improve business performance.

This is an excellent opportunity to take on a visible leadership position within a well-established organisation in the travel sector, shaping the direction of its Data & Insight function and helping embed data-driven decision-making across the business. You will have the opportunity to influence strategic priorities, develop a high-performing team and deliver meaningful improvements to operational efficiency, customer experience and overall business performance. The ideal candidate will combine technical credibility, strong people leadership and commercial insight, with the ability to turn data into action and build a team that makes a measurable difference.
