About the role

We are seeking a creative, passionate, and accomplished Reception Class Teacher to join our dedicated team. If you have a proven track record of delivering rich, play-based EYFS provision and driving excellent developmental outcomes, we want to hear from you.

For the right candidate who brings exceptional practice, strong EYFS expertise, and a commitment to whole-school impact, we are fully committed to possibly offering a position on the Upper Pay Scale (UPS).

Why Choose Our School?

  • A Nurturing & Vibrant EYFS Environment: Our Reception classrooms and outdoor learning spaces are thoughtfully designed to promote independent exploration, risk-taking, and active learning.
  • Recognition & Reward: We deeply value experienced educators. We offer competitive remuneration up to Upper Pay Scale (UPS) to reflect your expertise and the value you bring to our school community.
  • Work-Life Balance & Well-being: Dedicated PPA time, reduced administrative burdens, and a supportive leadership team that prioritises teacher well-being.
  • Continuous Growth: Clear pathways for continuous professional development, leadership progression, or curriculum coordination roles.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with significant experience teaching in Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
  • A deep understanding of how young children learn, grow, and thrive, backed by strong knowledge of the revised EYFS framework.
  • An expert practitioner who can create an engaging, inclusive, and high-quality learning environment tailored to diverse needs.
  • Excellent skills in monitoring progress, early intervention, and partnership with parents and carers.
  • A collaborative, forward-thinking educator ready to share best practices and contribute positively to the wider school culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • High-Quality Teaching & Learning: Plan and deliver a child-centred, progressive curriculum that sparks curiosity and builds foundational skills in literacy, numeracy, and personal development.
  • Assessment & Progress: Track children's development effectively using continuous observation and assessment to ensure high attainment and rapid progress for all learners.
  • Environment & Provision: Maintain dynamic, safe, and stimulating indoor and outdoor learning environments that encourage challenge and independent learning.
  • Leadership & Mentoring: (For UPS Candidates) Model exemplary classroom practice, contribute to curriculum development across the Key Stage, and mentor early-career colleagues.
