Grayscale Medical is seeking an experienced Specialty Trainee (ST3+) in Emergency Medicine for a 3-month locum contract at Causeway Hospital, Coleraine, within the Northern Health and Social Care Trust. This position offers an assignment rate of £60 per hour, running from October 2026 to January 2027.

This is a substantive locum opportunity for a registrar-level emergency medicine doctor to work in a dynamic acute hospital serving the North Coast and surrounding areas. Causeway Hospital's Emergency Department handles a high-volume, diverse case mix including major trauma, acute medical emergencies, paediatric emergencies, and minor injuries. You will work at ST3+ level with appropriate clinical autonomy, supervising junior colleagues and contributing to departmental teaching.

Key responsibilities include leading resuscitation scenarios, managing complex undifferentiated presentations, performing advanced emergency procedures, and providing clinical oversight of junior medical staff. You will be expected to participate in the middle-grade rota, which may include night shifts and weekend on-call commitments. The department benefits from consultant-led care during peak hours, with a supportive senior team.

Requirements:

• Full GMC registration with licence to practise
• Right to work in the UK
• ST3+ level or equivalent experience in Emergency Medicine
• Up-to-date DBS/AccessNI clearance
• Professional indemnity insurance
• ALS/ATLS certification desirable
• Minimum 2 professional references
