About the role

Full‑Time | KS1 & KS2 Provision | Immediate Start

Supporting children with additional needs is one of the most rewarding roles in education — and we’re looking for a caring, patient and proactive SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Shirley.

The school has a nurturing SEND provision for pupils across KS1 and KS2, and they’re seeking someone who can bring consistency, positivity and a calm presence to the team.

About the Role

  • Supporting pupils with a range of SEND needs (including ASD, ADHD, SEMH and communication needs)
  • Providing 1:1 and small‑group support within a structured provision
  • Helping pupils regulate emotions, build confidence and engage positively in learning
  • Working closely with the class teacher, SENDCO and wider staff team
  • Contributing to a safe, inclusive and encouraging environment
  • Assisting with personalised learning plans and differentiated activities

What We’re Looking For

  • A caring, patient and resilient practitioner
  • Experience supporting children with additional needs
  • Strong communication and behaviour‑support skills
  • Someone reliable, proactive and confident working as part of a team
  • A genuine passion for helping children thrive

Why This School?

This Shirley primary is known for its warm, supportive staff, strong SEND leadership and a provision that puts children’s wellbeing first. You’ll be joining a team that values collaboration, creativity and child‑centred practice.
