Are you an experienced CNC Turner looking for a role offering varied machining work, from one-off components to production batches?
We’re recruiting for an established precision engineering business in Midhurst, looking for someone confident setting and operating CNC lathes, working from engineering drawings and machining components to tight tolerances.
Programming experience would be an advantage, but candidates with good setting and operating skills will also be considered.

What you’ll be doing

• Setting and operating CNC turning machines.
• Machining one-off and batch components to engineering drawings.
• Carrying out machine set-ups, tool changes and offset adjustments.
• Editing existing CNC programmes and creating programmes from scratch where capable.
• Inspecting finished components using appropriate measuring equipment.
• Maintaining quality standards and identifying machining issues.
• Working independently while supporting wider production requirements.

What we’re looking for

• Previous experience as a CNC Turner.
• Confident setting and operating CNC lathes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Understanding of tooling, feeds, speeds and machining processes.
• Experience using measuring equipment to check component accuracy.
• Familiarity with programme editing and offset adjustments.
