About the role
Teaching Assistant - Nurture Group
Join our team at All Saints CEVA Primary School
Are you passionate about supporting young children with additional needs to thrive, develop independence and reach their full potential? Do you have the patience, empathy and enthusiasm to make a real difference to the lives of children with complex SEND needs?
All Saints CEVA Primary School is looking for a caring, committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated Nurture Group team.
Our Nurture Group supports five children in EYFS / Year 1 who have complex special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The group provides a safe, structured and nurturing environment where children can develop the essential skills they need to access learning, build relationships and grow in confidence.
About the role
Working as part of a supportive team, you will help provide a personalised approach to learning, tailored to the individual needs of each child. You will support children to develop their communication, emotional regulation, social interaction and independence skills, helping them to feel safe, valued and ready to learn.
The role will involve supporting children with a range of needs, including communication and interaction, sensory needs, emotional regulation, self-care and toileting, and early learning skills.
You will help to create a positive, engaging and inclusive environment in which every child is encouraged to make progress at their own pace.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is caring, patient, calm and nurturing, with a genuine passion for working with young children.
- Has experience of, or a strong interest in, supporting children with complex SEND needs.
- Understands the importance of building positive relationships and helping children feel safe and secure.
- Can support children with communication, emotional regulation, social interaction and independence.
- Is flexible, resilient and able to respond positively to the changing needs of individual children.
- Can work effectively as part of a team and follow individual support plans and guidance.
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children.
- Can support the Christian ethos of the school and our values: Respect, Courage, Forgiveness, Humility, Trust, Wisdom, Compassion, Service, Peace, Love and Hope.
- Is firmly committed to safeguarding and the promoting the welfare of all pupils and members of the school family. Please see our safeguarding policy https://www.allsaintscevakingsthorpe.org.uk/index.php/parents-carers/safeguarding/safeguarding
Experience of working with children with SEND would be an advantage, but above all, we are looking for someone with the right attitude, commitment and desire to make a difference.
Benefits of working for us include:
- The opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the lives of young children.
- The chance to work within a small, nurturing provision where relationships are at the heart of everything we do.
- Support from a dedicated team who are committed to helping every child achieve their potential.
- Opportunities to develop your knowledge and skills in supporting children with additional needs.
- On-going staff training and opportunities for professional development
- A friendly and supportive staff team
- Access to a free Employee Assistance Programme, offering mental health and wellbeing support
- 1 wellbeing day a year
- Local Government Pension Scheme
Hours of work 8:40 - 3:15 with half an hour unpaid lunchbreak
Annual salary (actual):
