Looking for a finance role where you can take ownership, make improvements and have a real impact on a growing business?
Sheridan Maine is delighted to be recruiting for a Part-Time Finance Manager on behalf of a growing SME based in Central London.
This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on, qualified accountant to take ownership of the company's finance function, bringing key accounting activities in-house and developing efficient financial processes and controls.
Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will play an integral role in managing the company's finances and providing valuable insight to support business decisions.
Key Responsibilities of the Finance Manager:
- Take ownership of the day-to-day finance and accounting function.
- Lead the transition of accounting activities from external accountants to an in-house operation.
- Manage the full accounting cycle, including month-end, management accounts and financial reporting.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash flow and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare VAT returns and ensure compliance with relevant statutory requirements.
- Liaise with external accountants regarding year-end accounts and statutory reporting.
- Develop and improve financial processes, controls and reporting systems.
- Provide meaningful financial information and analysis to support senior management decisions.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial efficiency and take ownership of ad-hoc projects.
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification.
- A strong background in accountancy practice, ideally within a small or independent firm.
- Sound knowledge of bookkeeping, accounts preparation and statutory accounting.
- Experience managing a broad range of accounting responsibilities.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to work independently.
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with senior stakeholders.
- The ability to implement improvements and develop effective financial processes.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing, entrepreneurial business where your contribution will make a genuine difference.
Offering a three-day working week, the role provides the opportunity to take full ownership of the finance function, establish improved processes and work directly with senior decision-makers.
If you're a qualified accountant looking for a rewarding part-time opportunity with autonomy, responsibility and the chance to make a real impact, we'd love to hear from you.
