Position: Full-Time, Temporary
Pay Rate: £170–£270 per day
DBS Requirement: Enhanced DBS required or willing to obtain one

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate, enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher to join a secondary school in Bingley, BD16, on a full-time, temporary basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a committed teacher who can inspire students, deliver engaging English lessons and support learners in developing their reading, writing, speaking and analytical skills.

The successful candidate will create a positive and inclusive learning environment, maintain high standards of teaching and learning, and encourage students to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging English lessons in line with the relevant curriculum.
• Teach English language and literature, adapting lessons to meet the needs and abilities of students.
• Monitor, assess and record students’ progress, providing constructive feedback.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment.
• Motivate and inspire students to develop their confidence and interest in English.
• Implement effective behaviour management strategies in line with school policies.
• Support students with varying abilities and additional learning needs.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the wider school community.
• Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualifications and experience appropriate to the role.
• Strong subject knowledge in English language and literature.
• Excellent communication, organisation and classroom management skills.
• The ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet students’ learning needs.
• A positive, flexible and professional approach.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
• An enhanced DBS check is required, with appropriate checks completed in line with safer recruitment requirements.
