About the role

Teaching Assistant (Level 2 / Level 3)

£25,185 - £25,583 FTE (approx. £21,697 - £22,040 pro-rata) [L2] or £25,584 - £27,269 FTE (approx. £22,041 - £23,493 pro-rata) [L3]

Join a supportive, holistic team delivering high-quality education to a class of 8-10 pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition. Working alongside specialist teachers and therapists, you will create a safe, nurturing environment focused on social-emotional wellbeing, communication, and fulfilling each pupil's Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).


Key Responsibilities

Classroom & Pupil Support

  • Deliver direct support to individuals or small groups, adapting lessons and learning approaches to meet EHCP targets.

  • Promote positive social interactions, inclusion, high standards of behaviour, and attendance.

  • Assist with emotional, physical, and medical care, including lunch duty supervision and First Aid administration.

  • (Level 3) Plan, arrange, and deliver specialised learning activities for small groups.

Teacher & Operational Support

  • Prepare classroom environments, resources, displays, and manage day-to-day administrative tasks.

  • Record pupil progress, contribute to target setting, planning, and evaluation.

  • Maintain a clean, safe learning environment in line with Health & Safety regulations.

  • (Level 3) Provide detailed feedback on learning activities to support school review processes.

Community, Culture & Safeguarding

  • Embody school values, foster family participation, and support school events.

  • Maintain strict safeguarding standards, pupil welfare, and medical/child protection protocols.

  • Uphold a "Humans first, professional second" culture, engaging in CPD, team collaboration, and out-of-hours governance/school meetings as required.

  • (Level 2/3) Support or mentor fellow Teaching Assistants in their professional development.

To be succesful in your application, you will have minimum Level 2 qualification and previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant in either a mainstream or SEN setting.
