Job Title: Science Academic Tutor

Location: Rainham, Greater London / Essex (RM13)

Salary: £20.00 - £25.00 per hour / Competitive Daily Rate

Start Date: Immediate / November 2026 - April/May 2027

Hours: Full-Time | Mon-Thu 08:00 - 16:00, Fri 08:00 - 14:00 (Early finish Friday!)

Contract Type: Temporary / Full-Time Supply

About the Role

Are you a Science graduate looking to kickstart a career in education? Randstad Education is recruiting a dedicated Science Academic Tutor to support secondary pupils at a thriving school in Rainham.

Starting in November (or earlier) and running through to May 2027, you will focus on guiding lower school pupils and sixth formers through core concepts in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. This is a single-subject specialist role designed to help pupils close learning gaps and achieve top exam results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide targeted 1:1 and small-group tuition in Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics).

  • Track pupil engagement and provide constructive feedback to classroom teachers.

  • Foster a positive, inquisitive learning atmosphere in every session.


What You Need
  • Degree educated in a Science discipline (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or related STEM subjects).

  • Sound knowledge of secondary Science frameworks.

  • Excellent interpersonal abilities and a proactive, engaging approach.

  • Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or willing to obtain one).
