Salary: £20.00 - £25.00 per hour / Competitive Daily Rate

Hours: Full-Time | Mon-Thu 08:00 - 16:00, Fri 08:00 - 14:00 (Early finish Friday!)

Do you have a passion for language and literature and want to help young people excel academically? We are hiring an English Academic Tutor to work full-time at a modern secondary school in Rainham.

This full-time post runs from November (or earlier) until May 2027, delivering focused English Language and Literature support across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and potentially Sixth Form. It is a fantastic entry point for graduates seeking school experience.

• Graduate Pathway: Build impressive educational experience on your CV before pursuing teaching or educational psychology.

• Early Weekend Start: Finish at 14:00 every Friday (Monday to Thursday: 08:00 to 16:00).

• Future Opportunities: Proving your capabilities in this setting opens doors to further long-term roles, teacher training sponsorship, or permanent roles across local school networks.

• Deliver small-group and individual English Language and Literature tutoring.

• Assist pupils in improving reading comprehension, essay structure, and critical analysis skills.

• Work closely with the English department to track pupil progress and support curriculum targets.

• Build pupil confidence in written and spoken communication.

• Degree educated in English Language, English Literature, Linguistics, or Humanities.

• Strong literacy standards and clear communication skills.

• A warm, encouraging, and structured approach to pupil learning.

• An Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service.
