An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated finance professional to join the Accountancy Services team as an Accountancy Assistant.

Reporting to the Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality financial management and budgetary control across Council services. You will assist with budget preparation and monitoring, financial reporting, grant claim administration, reconciliations, statutory returns and financial investigations, helping to ensure sound financial governance and decision-making.

The successful candidate will have strong analytical, organisational and communication skills, together with experience of working in a finance environment. An HNC in Accounting (or equivalent) and experience using Microsoft Office applications are essential. Previous experience of working as part of a team and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines are highly desirable.

This role offers hybrid working, allowing employees to work both from home and in Council locations, to support business needs.
