NIGHT MAINTENANCE LABOURER – Dukinfield

Bennett Staff looking for a practical and reliable Night Maintenance Labourer to join our client’s maintenance team. This role is to start ASAP on a Temporary to Permanent basis.

You will be working alongside their maintenance engineers and technicians, you will help ensure production machinery, plant and facilities are kept safe, clean and operating efficiently.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys practical work, is mechanically minded and takes pride in keeping things running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist maintenance engineers and technicians with planned servicing, routine inspections and emergency breakdowns.
• Follow a pre-planned preventative maintenance schedule.
• Keep plant rooms, production areas and equipment clean, tidy and free from hazards.
• Carry out basic, low-risk maintenance tasks, including lubrication, filter changes and replacement of pumps, belts and other components.
• Assist with cutting, drilling, forming and fabrication of metalwork and steelwork.
• Identify and repair minor compressed-air leaks around the factory.
• Assist with general repairs, cleaning and upkeep of buildings, equipment and site facilities.
• Maintain appropriate maintenance records and report any issues or defects to the maintenance team.
• Always work safely and follow health, safety and environmental procedures.

Skills & Experience

• Comfortable using basic hand and power tools.
• Practical and mechanically minded, with a willingness to learn.
• Good physical stamina and able to undertake a hands-on role.
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Previous experience working in an industrial or maintenance environment would be an advantage.
• Forklift truck licence would be an advantage but is not essential.
• Good understanding of industrial hazards, including chemical safety (COSHH), and the correct use of PPE.
• Reliable, punctual and a good timekeeper.

Working Hours:

• Monday to Wednesday – 8.00pm to 6.00pm
• Thursday – 8.30pm to 6.00pm
• 37.5 Hours per week.

Pay Rate:

• £19.52 per hour
