About the role
Mechanical Design Engineer
Are you a Mechanical Design Engineer looking to work on innovative clean technology projects from concept through to manufacture? Want to play a key role in developing industry-leading wastewater treatment solutions?
is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its growing engineering team, supporting the design and development of advanced wastewater treatment systems and products.
What youll be doing
- Developing mechanical designs for new products and treatment systems.
- Producing 3D CAD models, engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation.
- Designing equipment and systems from P&IDs and process requirements.
- Performing engineering calculations and component selection.
- Creating and managing Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Supporting prototype development, testing and product improvement activities.
- Collaborating with Process, R&D, Manufacturing and Project teams.
- Supporting installation, commissioning and technical problem-solving where required.
- Ensuring designs comply with relevant standards and safety requirements.
What were looking for
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
- Proven experience in mechanical design engineering.
- Experience developing and bringing new products to market.
- Strong 2D and 3D CAD skills (Autodesk preferred).
- Experience producing manufacturing drawings and technical documentation.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
- Desirable
- Water, wastewater, process or chemical industry experience.
- Experience with P&IDs and process plant design.
- Knowledge of HAZOPs, risk assessments and design reviews.
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards it.
- Understanding of UKCA/CE compliance requirements.
