Are you an experienced Project Manager - Special Risks looking for your next opportunity?
Technical Resources is partnering with a leading provider of specialist physical security and high-risk protection systems to hire a Project Manager - Special Risks. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end delivery of complex, high-value security projects across a diverse UK-wide portfolio, ensuring programmes are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery: Lead the full lifecycle delivery of special risks security projects, from pre-construction through to handover, managing scope, programme, and commercial performance.
Client & Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and end-users, managing expectations and maintaining strong professional relationships throughout the project.
Subcontractor & Resource Management: Procure, manage, and coordinate specialist subcontractors and internal engineering teams to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant site operations.
Technical Oversight & Reporting: Produce and maintain project documentation including programmes, risk registers, progress reports, and handover packs for clients and senior management.
Quality & Compliance: Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with relevant industry standards, client specifications, and applicable health and safety legislation including CDM regulations.
Experience & Qualifications Required
Essential:
Experience: Minimum 5 years as a Project Manager within the physical security or special risks industry.
Technical Skills: Hands-on project management experience across specialist security systems such as blast mitigation, ballistic protection, intruder detection, access control, or high-security perimeter solutions.
Project/Operational Scope: Proven track record of delivering complex, multi-site or high-value security projects within commercial, government, or critical infrastructure environments.
Soft Skills: Strong client relationship management, risk and issue resolution, clear written and verbal communication, and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
Mobility & Eligibility: Full UK driving licence and Right to Work in the UK; ability to travel UK-wide as required.
Desirable:
Certifications: PRINCE2, APM PMQ, or equivalent project management qualification; CSCS/SMSTS for site attendance; NSI or SSAIB accreditation awareness.
Sector Background: Prior experience working on government, defence, or high-security commercial contracts where enhanced security clearance may be required.
