Our Client is hiring for a Receptionist in Grimsby, offering an office-based administrative role with meaningful responsibility, strong team support, and training to cover periods of absence.
What you'll be doing:
* Acting as the first point of contact for visitors, telephone callers and email enquiries-greeting people professionally face to face and on reception
* Logging arrivals and departures, ensuring the right staff are notified, and issuing visitor passes and security fobs as required
* Managing reception enquiries by providing basic information and directing more technical questions to the appropriate manager
* Using observation and situational awareness to help diffuse potentially difficult situations, recognising when additional support is needed
* Staying alert to potential safeguarding/risk concerns and taking appropriate action (including updating relevant systems)
* Handling building logistics such as mail, ordering PPE and stationery, supporting meeting rooms, and managing bookings (including hot desk and car parking)
* Supporting key administrative functions for operational teams, including filing, producing correspondence, scanning/archiving sensitive information, and updating records
* Supporting day-to-day building safety and security, including acting as key holder and assisting with fire and evacuation measures (training provided)
* Logging building faults and incidents, escalating through the right channels, and making urgency decisions within guidelines
What you'll bring:
* Proven proficiency with ICT skills, particularly across the Microsoft Office applications
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Strong organisation and attention to detail-especially when handling sensitive and confidential information
* A respectful, inclusive mindset that promotes diversity and anti-discriminatory practice
* Ability to remain composed and tactful under pressure, with good situational awareness
* Willingness to support other teams/functions and provide cover during periods of absence (training provided)
Additional information:
* Core hours include regular unsocial hours (evenings and/or weekends) as determined by business need
* All candidates are subject to security and identity checks prior to taking up post
* External candidates are subject to 6 months' probation
