This Quality Engineer position offers meaningful cross-functional influence, strong process ownership, and the chance to turn data into defect reduction and improved reliability.
As a Quality Engineer you will:
- As a Quality Engineer, review, approve and implement Engineering Change Notifications (ECN) and Process Change Notifications (PCN) to support manufacturing requirements efficiently.
- Lead assigned supplier commodities through safe launch activities, ensuring PPAP processes deliver compliant products and documentation prior to shipment.
- Lead quality investigations and resolution using 8D and practical problem-solving methodologies, driving timely, robust corrective and preventive actions.
- Conduct supplier audits for business-critical commodities to agreed schedules, ensuring consistent quality standards across the supply chain.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects, improve yield and enhance customer satisfaction using recognised quality tools.
- Contribute to cost-of-quality analysis and implement strategies that reduce scrap, rework and warranty claims.
The Quality Engineer will bring:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Supplier Quality Assurance, Supplier Development, or Quality Engineering within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Practical experience applying PPAP, APQP, 8D/problem solving and auditing, with evidence of real-world use.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a blue-chip manufacturing or engineering setting, operating automotive-level quality, procurement and supply chain processes.
- A strong understanding of ISO standards and the discipline required to ensure compliance across internal operations and suppliers.
- A relevant HND or BEng in an Engineering discipline, with Continuous Improvement or Lean qualifications a plus.
This Quality Engineer role supports the wider drive for operational excellence, consistent standards and reliable delivery, aligning quality systems and supplier performance with the company’s ambition to innovate in marine propulsion and bring new technology confidently to market. You’ll be trusted to self-manage personal KPIs and champion continuous improvement from launch through serial production.
