Are you an experienced SHEA Gas Electrician looking for your next opportunity?

Technical Resources is partnering with a leading provider of gas infrastructure and utilities maintenance services to hire a SHEA Gas Electrician. In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out electrical installation, inspection, and maintenance work across gas infrastructure sites, ensuring full compliance with SHEA (Safety, Health, Environment, and Authorisation) requirements throughout.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Installation & Maintenance: Carry out installation, testing, and maintenance of electrical systems on gas infrastructure and utilities sites to the required standards.
SHEA Compliance: Ensure all works are completed in strict accordance with SHEA Gas protocols, authorisation requirements, and relevant safety legislation.
Stakeholder & Site Coordination: Liaise with site managers, principal contractors, and operational teams to ensure efficient programme delivery across multiple locations.
Technical Oversight & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of works completed, produce test documentation, and contribute to handover packs and progress reporting.
Quality & Compliance: Adhere to relevant industry standards including IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671), Gas Safe requirements, and applicable health and safety legislation.

Experience & Qualifications Required

Essential:

Experience: Minimum 3 years as a SHEA Gas Electrician or electrician working within the gas, utilities, or critical infrastructure sector.
Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with electrical systems in hazardous or gas-associated environments, including LV/HV installations and associated plant.
Project/Operational Scope: Proven track record of working across multi-site or nationwide contracts within a utilities or gas network environment.
Soft Skills: Strong safety awareness, ability to work independently across dispersed sites, clear communication with site and project teams.
Mobility & Eligibility: Full UK driving licence and Right to Work in the UK; willingness to travel to various sites nationwide.

Desirable:

Certifications: SHEA Gas card (essential), ECS Gold Card, CSCS, 18th Edition (BS 7671), City & Guilds 2391 (Inspection & Testing), EUSR registration.
Sector Background: Prior experience working on National Grid, SGN, Cadent, or similar gas distribution network contracts.
