Grayscale Medical is recruiting a Specialty Doctor in Elderly Care for a locum position with the Northern Health and Social Care Trust, based at Antrim Area Hospital. This is a day shift role at an assignment rate of £60.00 per hour, running from November 2026 through to February 2027.

The successful candidate will join the Elderly Care department at Antrim Area Hospital, providing medical care to older patients across acute and rehabilitation settings. Responsibilities include assessment and management of acutely unwell elderly patients, falls and frailty assessments, medication reviews, discharge planning, and multidisciplinary team working. The role involves managing a varied caseload of general medical conditions commonly presenting in the elderly population, with exposure to stroke care, dementia assessment, and complex comorbidity management.

You will work alongside consultants, registrars, and a well-established nursing and allied health team. There may be on-call commitments depending on departmental requirements.

Requirements:

• Specialty Doctor grade or equivalent SAS experience in Elderly Care or General Medicine
• Full GMC registration with licence to practise
• Right to work in the United Kingdom
• Up-to-date DBS or AccessNI clearance
• Professional indemnity insurance
• Minimum of two professional references
• BLS certification and safeguarding training
