About the role
Job title and organisation: Refuge Night Worker (Female*) - Leeds Women's Aid
Salary: £21,840 (£25,480 FTE), plus 50p per hour night premium
Hours: 30 hours per week, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday night, 10 pm – 8:30 am
Contract: Fixed Term Maternity Cover - 12 months
Location: Leeds

We are looking for a compassionate and supportive Refuge Night worker to join our team. The Out-of-hours Team are the first point of contact for, and access to LDVS for any person experiencing domestic violence and abuse. We work with victim-survivors, providing a 24-hour helpline service and specialist guidance to our residents residing at our refuge accommodation.
You will need:
- A good understanding of the impact of domestic violence and abuse on victim-survivors, children and their families.
- Experience of telephone-based and/or customer service advice or support work.
- The ability to work under pressure in stressful or difficult situations.
- Great listening skills
- Able to work within an operational multi-agency environment
- Able to work alone
Leeds Women’s Aid (LWA) is the largest women’s charitable organisation in Leeds and provides services for victims of domestic violence and abuse, honour-based violence, forced marriage, trafficking, stalking and harassment and is the lead agency for two consortia, Leeds Domestic Violence Service and Women’s and Girls Alliance.
