BS Social Care is pleased to be recruiting on behalf of a respected education provider for Learning & Care Support Assistants to support students with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) across specialist SEND provisions in Hayes and Uxbridge.

The Role
As a Learning & Care Support Assistant, you will provide one-to-one and small group support to students with complex learning disabilities and additional needs, helping them participate fully in college life and achieve their individual goals.
You will support both learning and personal care needs, working closely with teaching staff and multidisciplinary teams to ensure students receive the highest standard of care and educational support.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing one-to-one and small group support to learners with PMLD and complex needs.
- Assisting students to access learning activities and integrate into the classroom environment.
- Encouraging and promoting independence wherever possible.
- Supporting students with personal care, feeding, and daily living activities.
- Administering medication in line with agreed procedures and care plans.
- Supporting learners during practical sessions, workshops, educational visits, and community activities.
- Assisting students with mobility around the campus.
- Providing therapeutic interventions where appropriately trained.
- Maintaining accurate records and contributing to student reviews and progress reports.
- Supporting students during break and lunchtime periods where required.
- Working collaboratively with tutors, therapists, families, and support teams.
- Identifying and reporting any safeguarding or welfare concerns.
What We're Looking For
Essential
Experience working with or supporting young people
Good standard of education, including Maths and English
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to engage, motivate, and support learners
Willingness to undertake personal care duties
Flexible and proactive approach to supporting students
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Understanding of safeguarding and equality principles
Willingness to complete Manual Handling and Medication Training (if not already qualified)
Ability to work across Hayes and Uxbridge sites if required
Desirable
Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities and additional needs
Manual Handling training
Medication Administration training
Team Teach training
Administrative and IT skills, including Microsoft Office
Experience working within education, SEND, care, or support settings
