Zest Education are working with a welcoming and well-regarded secondary school in Sutton Coldfield who are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Engineering & Design Technology Teacher on a full-time basis from February 2027 until July 2027.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher, or an ECT looking for further experience, to join a supportive department and inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4.

The Role

As an Engineering & DT Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and practical lessons across KS3 and KS4, helping students to develop their technical knowledge, creativity and practical skills.

You will:

• Plan and deliver high-quality Engineering and Design Technology lessons.

• Teach students across Key Stages 3 and 4.

• Inspire and motivate students through engaging, practical and challenging lessons.

• Support students in developing their practical, technical and design skills.

• Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback.

• Contribute positively to the wider Design Technology department and school community.

• Maintain high expectations of behaviour, progress and achievement.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will ideally:

• Have experience teaching Engineering, Design Technology or a related subject at secondary level.

• Be confident teaching across KS3 and KS4.

• Have strong subject knowledge and a passion for practical and technical education.

• Be able to create an engaging and positive learning environment.

• Have excellent classroom management skills.

• Be committed to supporting students of all abilities.

• Hold QTS or have relevant teaching experience/qualifications.

• Be able to commit to the full-time position from February to July 2027.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications.
