Are you an experienced Data Cabling Engineer looking for your next opportunity?
Technical Resources is partnering with a leading provider of structured cabling and network infrastructure solutions to hire a Data Cabling Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, termination, and testing of data cabling systems across commercial and enterprise sites, ensuring high-quality network infrastructure is delivered to specification and on time.

Key Responsibilities
Cable Installation & Termination: Install, route, and terminate Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, and fibre optic cabling in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
Testing & Fault-Finding: Carry out end-to-end testing using Fluke or equivalent test equipment, identifying and resolving faults to ensure full system sign-off.
Stakeholder & Site Coordination: Liaise with site managers, principal contractors, and end clients to ensure smooth day-to-day delivery on site.
Technical Oversight & Reporting: Complete accurate test results, as-built drawings, and handover documentation to support project closeout.
Quality & Compliance: Work in accordance with BS EN 50173 structured cabling standards, relevant H&S regulations, and site-specific requirements.
Experience & Qualifications Required
Essential:
Experience: Minimum 2 years as a Data Cabling Engineer within the telecoms or structured cabling industry.
Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a copper cabling and fibre optic installation, including termination and testing using Fluke or Kewtech test equipment.
Project/Operational Scope: Track record of delivering structured cabling installations across commercial, education, or enterprise environments.
Soft Skills: Reliable communicator with strong fault-finding ability and a professional approach to client-facing site work.
Mobility & Eligibility: Right to Work in the UK at the time of application.
Desirable:
Certifications: ECS/CSCS card; PASMA or IPAF; fibre splicing certification.
Sector Background: Prior experience on data centre, critical infrastructure, or large-scale commercial fit-out projects.
