Job Description:

The Retail Sales & Weighbridge Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing daily sales activities and managing weighbridge operations within a busy customer-facing environment. You will provide excellent customer service, process transactions, coordinate deliveries and collections, and work closely with the wider operational team to ensure everything runs safely and efficiently. This is a hands-on position requiring strong organisation, commercial awareness and the ability to manage several priorities at once.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Supervise daily retail and counter sales activities, providing excellent customer service.
• Manage weighbridge operations, accurately recording vehicle weights and processing transactions.
• Maintain accurate weighbridge records and operational logs.
• Assist customers with product enquiries and provide knowledgeable advice.
• Identify opportunities to upsell products and maximise sales.
• Coordinate deliveries and collections with customers, drivers and the wider operational team.
• Plan deliveries and support the smooth day-to-day running of the sales operation.
• Communicate professionally with customers, drivers, colleagues and external partners.
• Organise daily schedules and ensure operational deadlines are met.
• Work closely with the wider team to maintain safe and efficient operations.
• Multitask effectively between customer service, sales, administration and weighbridge responsibilities.
• Maintain high standards of accuracy, organisation and professionalism.

About You:

• Previous experience within a supervisory, trade counter, retail sales, branch, depot, transport, logistics or similar customer-facing operational role.
• Confident dealing directly with customers and providing a high level of service.
• Commercially minded with the ability to identify sales and upselling opportunities.
• Strong communication skills with the confidence to deal with customers, drivers, colleagues and external partners.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage several responsibilities at once.
• Strong attention to detail and comfortable maintaining accurate records and processing transactions.
• Able to coordinate deliveries, collections or other operational activities.
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise effectively in a busy environment.
• Comfortable working in a hands-on role where no two days are exactly the same.
• Proactive, reliable and confident taking ownership of day-to-day responsibilities.

Desirable:

• Previous weighbridge experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
• Experience within a trade counter, builders’ merchant, branch, depot, hire, transport, logistics or similar operational environment would be beneficial.
• Previous supervisory or team-leading experience.
• Experience coordinating deliveries, collections or vehicle movements.
• Previous experience combining customer service with sales and operational responsibilities.

What is on Offer:

• Salary of £35,000 - £38,000 depending on experience.
• Full-time permanent position.
• Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm.
• Two Saturday mornings per month, 8:00am - 12:00pm.
