Are you an experienced Fire Systems Remedial Engineer looking for your next opportunity?

Technical Resources is partnering with a leading provider of fire detection and life safety systems to hire a Fire Systems Remedial Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and remediating fire alarm and detection systems across a varied portfolio of commercial and residential sites, ensuring all systems are restored to full compliance and operational readiness.

Key Responsibilities

Fault Diagnosis & Remediation: Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve faults on fire alarm and detection systems across a range of commercial and residential sites.
Remedial Works: Carry out cabling repairs, device replacements, panel repairs, and zone upgrades in line with engineer reports and client requirements.
Stakeholder & Client Management: Liaise with site managers, facilities teams, and end clients to schedule and complete remedial visits with minimal disruption.
Technical Reporting: Produce accurate site reports, remedial action logs, and completion certificates following each visit, ensuring full documentation for handover.
Quality & Compliance: Ensure all remedial works are completed in accordance with BS 5839, EN 54, and relevant British Standards, maintaining full compliance with current fire safety regulations.

Experience & Qualifications Required

Essential:

Experience: Minimum 3 years as a Fire Systems Remedial Engineer or Fire Alarm Engineer within the fire and life safety industry.
Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with major fire alarm panels and systems, such as Gent, Hochiki, Advanced, Notifier, Morley, or Apollo.
Project/Operational Scope: Proven track record of completing reactive and planned remedial works across multi-site commercial, industrial, or residential environments.
Soft Skills: Strong fault-finding ability, excellent written and verbal communication, and the ability to manage client relationships professionally on site.
Mobility & Eligibility: Full UK driving licence and Right to Work in the UK at the time of application.

Desirable:

Certifications: FIA-accredited training, CSCS card, or equivalent fire industry qualifications; ECS card advantageous.
Sector Background: Prior experience working on critical infrastructure, healthcare, education, or large-scale commercial contracts.
