Monday to Thursday: 8:00am - 5:00pm | Friday: 8:00am - 1:00pm

Jackson Hogg is supporting the search for a Manufacturing Lead on behalf of a leading manufacturing business based in Consett.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on manufacturing professional to play a key role in improving safety, quality, productivity and operational performance across a busy CNC machining environment.

Reporting to the Production Manager, you'll work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality and Maintenance teams to resolve manufacturing issues, drive continuous improvement initiatives and support the development of shop-floor capability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead investigations into manufacturing and quality issues, implementing robust corrective actions.
  • Drive improvements in OEE, machine utilisation, productivity and delivery performance.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce scrap, rework, downtime and process waste.
  • Support continuous improvement activities including Kaizen, 5S/6S and lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Provide technical support and coaching to operators and production teams.
  • Develop manufacturing processes, tooling, setup standards and best practices.
  • Support resource planning and help ensure production targets are achieved safely and efficiently.

About You

  • Strong CNC machining and manufacturing experience.
  • Proven track record of delivering process improvements within a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • Experience using manufacturing data such as OEE, downtime, cycle time and scrap metrics to drive improvement.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence teams across Production, Engineering, Quality and Maintenance.
  • Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement experience would be advantageous.
