About the role
A welcoming primary school in Warwick is seeking a full‑time Year 5/6 Teacher to join their team. The role requires a qualified teacher (QTS essential) who can confidently lead a full class while also delivering PPA cover across the school. Because the school values consistency, clear communication and strong routines, you’ll play a key part in supporting pupils through the upper‑KS2 curriculum.
You’ll take responsibility for a Year 5/6 class, planning engaging lessons, maintaining high expectations and creating a positive learning environment. Additionally, you’ll provide PPA cover using pre‑prepared plans, ensuring learning continues smoothly and pupils remain focused. As a result, strong organisation, adaptability and a proactive approach are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach a Year 5/6 class with clear routines and high expectations
- Deliver PPA cover across KS1 and KS2 when required
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the school curriculum
- Use positive behaviour strategies to maintain a calm, purposeful classroom
- Assess learning, track progress and provide constructive feedback
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support whole‑school priorities
