About the role

We are advertising x 1 Full Time (37 hours per week) post and x 1 Part Time (18.5 hours per week) post.

About the Role:

Located in the beautiful Grade 11 listed Rochdale Cemetery, our Bereavement Services team provides essential administrative support to five cemeteries and two crematoria across the borough. As a key member of our small friendly team, your responsibilities would include:

  • Booking funerals
  • Receiving, checking, and processing paperwork for burials and cremations
  • Assisting the public with memorialisation
  • Processing memorial permits from masons
  • Handling a wide range of related administrative tasks

Whether you already have knowledge of burial and cremation laws or are eager to learn, this role offers an excellent opportunity to grow and make a meaningful impact.


About You:

We need a team player who is flexible, adaptable, and ready to learn a variety of tasks. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Excellent administrative skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Patience, good listening skills, and empathy when dealing with customers
  • An understanding and respect for the legal framework within which we operate
  • Willingness to learn / train as necessary
