Are you an experienced Children's Social Care Manager looking for a rewarding leadership post in a supportive, high-performing authority?
Barnsley Council is recruiting an experienced, dedicated Team Manager to lead one of their Safeguarding Teams. Offering a competitive rate of £40.00 per hour, this role is ideal for an accomplished manager skilled at guiding frontline social workers through Child in Need, Child Protection, and Public/Private Law proceedings.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Management: Lead and manage a dedicated safeguarding pod consisting of 7 qualified Social Workers, ensuring robust case management oversight and practice quality.
Reflective Supervision: Provide regular, high-quality reflective supervision, support, and professional guidance to team members to drive best outcomes for children.
Caseload & Risk Management: Maintain strong oversight of cases involving Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP) plans, and children subject to Private and Public Law court proceedings (PLO).
Performance & Quality Assurance: Ensure statutory timescales, quality standards, and performance management frameworks are consistently met within the team.
Supportive Leadership: Foster a nurturing, transparent team culture with visible management and active problem-solving support.
What We Are Looking For:
Qualifications & SWE: Recognised Social Work qualification with active Social Work England (SWE) registration.
Management Experience: Proven experience as a Team Manager or Assistant Team Manager within statutory Children's Safeguarding, Duty & Assessment, or Family Support services.
Court & CP Expertise: In-depth working knowledge of the Children Act 1989, statutory CP frameworks, and managing complex Public/Private Law court cases.
Mobility: Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business travel across the borough.
