Primary PPA Teacher Opportunities in Southwark

Are you a confident Primary Teacher who enjoys the variety of teaching across different classes without necessarily wanting responsibility for your own class?

Forward Teaching is looking to connect with qualified Primary Teachers in Southwark who are interested in current and upcoming PPA, cover and flexible teaching opportunities.

We’re particularly keen to hear from teachers who are comfortable moving between year groups, quickly establishing positive relationships with pupils and delivering engaging lessons across the primary curriculum.

The Role

Depending on the school and assignment, you may be responsible for:

• Providing PPA and planned teacher cover
• Teaching across KS1 and/or KS2
• Delivering pre-planned lessons confidently
• Planning lessons where required
• Adapting learning for different abilities and additional needs
• Maintaining positive behaviour and classroom routines
• Supporting pupils with SEND within mainstream classes
• Assessing learning and providing feedback where appropriate
• Working collaboratively with class teachers and support staff
• Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment
• Following school safeguarding policies and procedures

The Ideal Candidate

We’d particularly like to hear from teachers who:

• Hold QTS or an appropriate recognised teaching qualification
• Have primary classroom experience
• Are confident teaching across KS1, KS2 or both
• Can quickly build rapport with new classes
• Have strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• Are adaptable, organised and dependable
• Can differentiate learning for different abilities
• Understand how to support pupils with additional needs
• Enjoy the variety that PPA and cover teaching can offer
