About the role
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced PMO Lead to support a major IT transformation programme as the organisation moves to a complex multi-supplier operating model.
This is a high-profile and business critical role with responsibility for establishing strong programme governance and maintaining control across the end-to-end transition lifecycle.
The Role
This is a 12 month, outside IR35 contract role based in the North East. Your responsibilities will include managing the PMO, the exit of incumbent suppliers, onboarding of new delivery partners, operational readiness and the ongoing monitoring of supplier performance.
This is not a passive reporting role. The successful candidate will be expected to create structure, challenge delivery assumptions, identify risks early and hold internal teams and external suppliers accountable for delivering against simultaneous agreed milestones and contractual commitments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the PMO/TMO governance approach for a large-scale IT supplier transition programme.
- Coordinate the end-to-end exit, mobilisation and onboarding of multiple IT suppliers.
- Develop and maintain integrated programme plans covering multiple suppliers, workstreams, dependencies and milestones.
- Monitor delivery against contractual commitments, including SLAs, KPIs, milestones, service acceptance criteria and other performance measures.
- Maintain oversight of programme risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies and decisions.
- Challenge plans, progress updates and delivery assumptions to ensure reporting reflects the true position of the programme.
- Support the transition into operational service and ensure that appropriate governance continues following supplier onboarding.
Essential Experience
To be considered, candidates must be able to demonstrate:
- Significant experience leading a PMO or Transition Management Office within a large and complex IT transition programme.
- End-to-end experience of IT supplier transition management, knowledge transfer, supplier mobilisation, onboarding and service acceptance.
- Previous responsibility for managing governance across a multi-supplier or multi-vendor environment.
- Experience establishing and operating programme governance, controls, reporting and escalation processes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the confidence to work with senior leaders, delivery teams and external suppliers.
- Availability to begin a new contract at short notice.
- Ability to work onsite 2 to 3 days per week.
Why Apply?
This is an opportunity to play a central role in a significant IT transformation programme and help shape how multiple suppliers are governed, mobilised and held accountable.
