Retail Team Leader

Rapid Personnel are currently recruiting for an experienced Retail Team Leader to join a busy and welcoming Farm Shop on a permanent basis.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is confident leading a team and taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of a retail environment. You will act as the Duty Manager when required, working closely with and following the direction of the Retail Manager.

As Retail Team Leader, you will be responsible for supporting the smooth running of the shop, with a particular focus on the fresh and frozen areas.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Acting as Duty Manager in the absence of the Retail Manager
• Leading, supporting and delegating tasks to the retail team
• Organising team rotas and ensuring adequate cover
• Delivering excellent customer service and creating a positive shopping experience
• Managing the fresh and frozen areas of the shop
• Supporting with product ordering and checking deliveries
• Maintaining excellent product presentation and stock levels
• Monitoring stock, sales and wastage
• Ensuring the shop remains clean, organised and customer-ready
• Ensuring health & safety and food safety procedures are followed
• Supporting compliance procedures across the shop and café
• Sharing product knowledge and helping the team deliver excellent service
• Managing daily tasks efficiently and ensuring the team remains productive

About You

We are looking for a self-starter who is confident taking responsibility and leading a team.

Ideally, you will have previous retail management or team leader experience. Hospitality experience will also be considered, provided you have at least 1 year of experience working as a Team Leader or Duty Manager.

You will need to be:

• Confident leading and motivating a team
• Customer-focused with excellent communication skills
• Organised and able to manage multiple tasks
• Comfortable taking responsibility and making decisions
• A self-starter with a proactive approach
• Passionate about delivering high standards
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

Food Safety Level 2 is highly desirable, although training may be available for the right candidate.

Hours & Salary

• Permanent position
• 40 hours per week – all hours paid
• Up to £30,160 per annum
• Every other Saturday
• 1 Sunday every 4 weeks
• Start date: ASAP
