Warehouse Operative

Rapid Personnel are looking for a Goods in Operative / Warehouse Operative to work for our client based near Reading, Berkshire. This role is to receive, inspect, record, and store incoming products, ensuring full compliance with company standards, food safety regulations, and traceability requirements.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and unload deliveries.
• Check quality, temperature, labelling, and traceability against purchase orders.
• Accurately input delivery and stock data into the inventory system.
• Label, batch code, and store products correctly in chilled (0–4°C) or frozen storage.
• Rotate stock using FIFO principles to maintain freshness and compliance.
• Maintain accurate stock control and traceability at all times.
• Follow HACCP and food safety procedures.
• Report discrepancies, damaged goods, or compliance issues promptly.
• Operate pallet trucks, weighing scales, and forklifts.

Requirements

• Strong IT skills and experience using inventory systems (essential).
• Previous experience in a food production environment preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety, HACCP, and cold chain management.
• Physically fit and able to lift up to 25kg.
• Forklift licence advantageous.

Hours, Pay and Working Environment

Monday – Friday 06:00 to 16:00 OR 07:00 to 15:00

£14.50 per hour

Working in cold environments (chilled areas 0–4°C and frozen storage).
