FLT Counterbalance Yard Operative – Wigan

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an FLT Counterbalance Yard Operative to join our well-established client based in Wigan, Greater Manchester.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering £13.00 per hour, weekly pay, ongoing work, immediate starts and stable Monday to Friday hours, with no weekend working.

This role would suit candidates with previous experience as an FLT Counterbalance Driver, Forklift Truck Driver, Yard Operative, Warehouse Operative, Recycling Operative or General Operative, who hold an FLT Counterbalance licence.

Shifts

 • Monday to Friday, 8AM to 5PM
 • Full-time hours
 • No weekend working

Day-to-Day Duties

As an FLT Counterbalance Yard Operative, your duties will include:

 • Operating an FLT Counterbalance truck safely during daily yard and warehouse operations
 • Breaking down and re-stacking wooden pallets
 • Operating a baler to process recyclable materials
 • Breaking down cardboard and loading recycling materials onto vans
 • Sweeping warehouse areas and maintaining general housekeeping standards
 • Cleaning areas following loading and warehouse operations
 • Supporting the general upkeep of the yard and warehouse environment
 • Carrying out manual handling duties safely and efficiently
 • Following all health and safety procedures at all times

Essential Skills

 • Valid FLT Counterbalance licence (in-house licences accepted)
 • Ability to operate an FLT Counterbalance truck safely
 • Physically fit and comfortable carrying out manual handling duties
 • Reliable and hardworking attitude
 • Good punctuality and timekeeping
 • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
 • Positive and flexible approach to work

Desirable Experience

 • Previous experience working in a yard, warehouse or recycling environment
 • Experience handling wooden pallets and recyclable materials
 • Previous experience operating a baler
 • Experience maintaining warehouse and yard housekeeping standards

Training Provided

 • Full induction and industry-related training provided
 • Ongoing support throughout your assignment
