Process Manufacturing Engineer

Jackson Hogg are supporting a global manufacturing business in the search for a Process Manufacturing Engineer to join their established operation in the North East.

The Opportunity

This role will play a key part in developing and improving manufacturing processes, identifying opportunities to introduce automation and new technologies, while supporting new product introduction and continuous improvement initiatives.
Working closely with production, engineering, maintenance, quality, and HSE teams, you will help deliver measurable improvements in productivity, throughput, quality, and cost performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and implement manufacturing technology solutions including automation, robotics, AGVs, automated conveyors, and other advanced manufacturing systems.
• Lead process improvement and continuous improvement activities across manufacturing operations.
• Analyse workflows and production processes to drive efficiencies and eliminate waste.
• Support new product introduction activities, ensuring robust and efficient manufacturing processes are in place.
• Develop ROI cases and cost-saving justifications for capital and improvement projects.
• Create and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and manufacturing documentation.
• Utilise problem-solving and process analysis tools to improve capability, quality, and performance.
• Support value stream mapping, cycle time reduction, and operational excellence initiatives.
• Work cross-functionally to deliver manufacturing improvements aligned to business objectives.

What We're Looking For

• Degree qualified in Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience delivering process improvements within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of automation, manufacturing technologies, and lean principles.
• Knowledge of Six Sigma, 5S, FMEA, PFMEA, Cpk/Ppk, time studies, workflow design, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience using structured problem-solving techniques.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across operations, engineering, quality, and maintenance functions.
• Project management experience would be advantageous.
