About the role

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic librarian and marketing officer whose passion for reading as a tool for supporting young people to thrive will inspire and enthuse the students, staff, and local community of Swinton. Working alongside the whole-school leads for literacy and reading, the post holder will play a key role in ensuring that reading is fully embedded in to the culture of the academy, with the library at the core.  

The successful candidates will:

  • Be able to work independently and with initiative

  • Be willing to support student reading intervention groups

  • Be interested in the development of young people, especially their reading fluency

  • Have good communication skills

  • Be energetic, well-motivated and flexible

  • Have a professional manner and plenty of common sense

  • Be educated to GCSE standard or equivalent

  • Be able to work with ICT including interactive whiteboards

The role is based at Swinton Academy working 1 day per week, but you may be required to work at other locations within the trust.
